HEALTH CONSIDERATION & ORDER

As a mom, scientist (Biomedical Engineer & Pediatrician), and professional dancer, the decision to move forward to open our summer program is not an easy one to make, and I understand the risks. But I am also aware of the parents and children’s needs. This morning, Mayor London N. Breed said : “We have worked hard to create a safe environment for kids to be kids this summer. Children need to be able get outside and have fun while their parents know they are safe. While summer camps and programs will look different this year than they have in the past, it will provide relief for some parents and give their children the opportunity to play and spend time with other kids their age.”

I deeply trust our team’s abilities to make it happen in the best conditions. I spent time this past month figuring out how to best set up updating and establishing new policies and procedures in our camp location to ensure you feel comfortable sending your children to our Summer programs. Our camp location is huge, with 4 separate spaces (3 inside and 1 outside), allowing us to keep our small (<12) group safe all week long with the same teachers.

The Department of Public Health (DPH) issued today a Health Order for summer camps and programs : Safety measures such as temperature screenings, enhanced cleaning and staff screening will be applied. All end-of-week-camp performances will be unfortunately cancelled.

We are working on being ready to follow all guidelines and a detailed protocol will be sent to all families attending our summer camps 2020.
